Going camping with the family this spring; Generator ?
Hey Gang,
Going to get some nice outdoorsy type use out of my truck this spring. Going to take the wife and girls camping. I can't wait - its been so long since I've been. Question for you: Due to all the outages/issues w/ Hurricane Sandy I have 2 Honda EU2000is. I was thinking of bringing one along with me when we go camping. What types of things would you guys use this type of generator for? I was originally thinking coffee maker for the miss and I, and maybe the electric griddle since I don't have a propane camp stove yet. Any other good uses for one? I'm just happy I may have another use for my investment !

I know I know ... but I already bought them for home emergency power; since I already have 2 of them I might as well get more of my money's worth by bringing it along with me ...

Space heater or fan, hair dryer, radio, crock pot, coffee pot, electric frying pan, lights, charge cell phones. These are just a few things I used the power for when I had a travel trailer and had a electric hookup.By the way, I bought a Honda EU2000I generator after Sandy, and I love it.It ran about 10 hours on a gallon of fuel. I energized my heat, and ran a refrigerator, lights, and small applainces. VERY quiet compared to less expensive and LARGER units. Just sayin. Good luck camping, our family loved it.

Man times have changed.
When we used to take our kid camping, I thought it was the cats meow to have a rolling pop-up camper and a portable pooper, instead of a tent..

Re: Going camping with the family this spring; Generator ?
Thanks for the information Cooper. I had heard about it also and I called Honda. They checked my serial # on the computer, then had me confirm a code stamped on the inside, that my unit was repaired before it left the factory. If any one has one of these, and thier serial # is in the group affected, as mine was, I would call Honda customer service. They were great with me, took three minutes on the phone. Thanks for looking out.
