Just checked Carsdirect.com:

Carsdirect Target Price: $32,706
Pricing as of 1/16/13 in zip code 53044

So carsdirect is saying $300 less than the dealer equote... hmmmmmm....

Maybe I pay the $33,006 and ask for 50% off the list price for the Tonneau Cover (I know they make a killing on accesories and will often bargain with these)

Bottom line, if you're happy with the deal, that's all that matters. Our opinions are worthless. You are the one having to pay the bills. I don't consider $300 a deal breaker myself.

It's a game we all have to play at some point. Your job is to pay no more than necessary, but still buy what you need/want. The salesman's job is to sell for no less than necessary, but still be able to move product. Somewhere there has to be a meeting of the minds.

Remember that many on here paid sticker price to get their RLs when they first came out. Others were able to negotiate substantial discounts due to economic conditions, rebates, etc. as time went on.

Buying opportunities vary based on many factors. If you're satisfied with the deal, take it. If not (and you're not pressed by circumstances to buy right now), be patient.

Internet pricing is good for bargaining. But generally a local dealer can come close to it, and have the exact car you want, and you don't have to go out of town for it. At least that was true in my case. Sometimes you pay a little more for service, I'd rather do that locally if it comes down to it.

One thing I found about internet pricing is the fine print stating that it does not include dealer installed options. Extremely over priced options. They get you one way or the other. If my dealer had not given me more than I expected for my trade I would have walked for sure.

Just do your research...if done right you can get the same deal Internet price or not. You won't be able to justify your numbers without Internet resources though.
BTW...purchased a 2013 RTL today doing just that...

I checked www.truecar.com pricing for NH for the RTL w/o Nav and they had a price of $32,958., so basically the same as what you're working with so far....

My dealer matched the CarsDirect.com price. Paid me pretty much what Edmunds said my trade was worth. I was a happy camper.

Getting very close, have now involved some accessories and a trade-in to the negotiations...

If price is right I go, if not I can reload in a few months.

A few keys items come to mind as to why I prefer an RL over a full size:

1. The size of my garage (seriously, I have a newer house with a (3) car garage but the depth while it may fit a full size it would be tight)

2. RL ride is superior - never have liked the disconnected steering and rough ride of a full size truck.

3. Don't want to pass myself 4X on the way to work, I like that the RL is different from other trucks, not that many on the road and heck its a little goofy lookin but I like it.

4. Don't plan to tow anything significant (maybe some dirt bikes or a jet ski) but not a dual trailer with a big boat. RL seems more than capable for what I need it to do.

5. I am a rather tall 6'-1" normal size 180lbs guy, I don't need a "big boy" cab to be comfortable.

I really have no need nor desire for a full size truck and I really like Honda (especially their engines).
