Thanks, once I put "action" next to VTM-4 I found it. That video is an eye-opener.

That is EXACTLY what mine sounds like. Although, I have 163,000 on mine and it sounds the same. So it does not appear to worsen over time.

While it is soft, it is still penetrating (to my ears). I don't know if I've become more sensitive to it over the years or if mine is getting gradually worse (like the frog in the pot). But I can hear it now even into the low 60 mph range. It begins right when the TC locks at 47 mph. And it's most noticeable to me in the mid 40s.

I don't believe the tranny whine comes with age/miles. In my experience, you either have it (from new) or you don't have it at all. I prefer the latter option.

I hear it at 47mph, and again around 55-65mph. I have gotten used to it for the most part but I am still sensitive to new sounds on my truck. I think I would have noticed if it had gotten worse, so I have to agree with you that you either have it or you don't.
