Re: Ridgeline Truck Tent camping
BigFatDog, do you know if the Sportz tent you bought is the same as the one advertised to be OEM, GM part number 12499157 for the Avalanche? Shopping eBay, the pics look the same to me.
Here's the link of the one I'm looking at: http://www.ebay.com/itm/OEM-Sport-Be...f44f32&vxp=mtr Also, do you think it'd be practical to sew in a zipper on the bottom from an old tent to access the in-bed trunk? |

Another option? Looks like this Rightline tent might fit: http://www.etrailer.com/Truck-Bed-Te...id=20121076416

Re: Ridgeline Truck Tent camping
I really like these:http://www.trucktentscanada.com/hond...line/softopper, but they don't expand past the tailgate like a camping tent would with the tailgate down!

Re: Ridgeline Truck Tent camping
I agree, unless that picture isn't accurate for what the rainfly would look like on the Ridgeline. Plus this tent doesn't even have a bottom. Nice for being able to access the in-bed trunk, but not nice if it rained and that rainfly didn't work. I just sent etrailer an email asking them about it...I'll let you know if I hear back.

Re: Ridgeline Truck Tent camping
Nothing definitive from them. I just sent an email to check. Maybe if a few more people bug them they'll finish it up?
![]() Here's the correspondence I had a couple months ago: Hi Amanda, Thank you for your response. I got the link from a Google Search for Ridgeline Truck Tent. There are a lot of Ridgeline owners interested in a truck bed tent at this thread: http://www.ridgelineownersclub.com/f...ad.php?t=34486 If you don't mind, I'd like to share whatever you find out on that thread. Hopefully, the tent works with the Ridgeline...you'd have quite a few customers I'd imagine. I'm not sure how you got to the link that you sent me. The link provided shows part number RL110865 as a fit for your vehicle, but our web site does not list this as an option for your vehicle. I have sent an email requesting more info on this part. I hope to have an update for you within the next 24 hours. > > Please let me know if I can be of further assistance. Im trying to figure out how it would keep the rain out of the bed since there is no gap between the cab and the bed for the water to go. If the rainfly overlaps the roof it could work, but the pictures dont show it doing that. > > http://www.etrailer.com/Truck-Bed-Te...id=20121076416 Last edited by matt300; 01-28-2013 at 11:24 AM. |

Something occurred to me the other day. If you had one of those hitch mounted bed extenders with the right attachment on it, you could carry a piece of plywood to extend the bed a couple more feet to give a regular tent in the bed more room. Doesn't solve the rain issue though.

Re: Ridgeline Truck Tent camping
It would be nice if they had something designed to fit the Ridgeline.
