Re: It had to happen... :(

Glad it is fixed and looking good!

PITA to have to deal with an accident, time, money, head aches frustration and who knows what else. I hope you don't get involved in another one ever. It is always a PITA and it is good to have a good insurance to let them do what they get paid for.

Re: It had to happen... :(

Looks good! It would be interesting to see side-by-side pics before and after the repair.

C.P.R. (aka Collision, Paint, and Repair) in Longview, Texas. They've done work for me once before and two repairs for my brother. All have been top-tier repairs. Most impressive was a metallic red-orange-copper Eclipse my brother had that was vandalized. Someone keyed the hood and trunk. Somehow, they matched and blended that difficult color spot on.

Re: It had to happen... :(

I'm a little late on this but I am a claims adjust with Nationwide and it is completely obvious from your picture you are NOT at fault. Unless, they could prove your were speeding, which still would only make you partially at fault. I don't see why his company would have denied liability and wasted everyone's time sending it to arbitration. Anyway, glad you did the smart thing and let your insurance carrier fix it. Nice truck btw!

Re: It had to happen... :(

I hear many horror stories on the radio here in Denver of insurance companies denying claims even though it is obvious who was at fault.

The next route for most people in this situation would be small claims court.

Assume you took more photos. But the ones you got are pretty clear as to who is changing Lane.

I don't even rely on my cell, I might forget it, etc. I always have a cheap digital cam in the glove box for those unexpected moments. It also handy for those trips where you forgot to pack your best camera.

Re: It had to happen... :(

Flying J and Pilot have a $99 dash camera special - I got it and it works great. Makes avi and every 10 minutes it starts another movie and deletes the oldest one when the SD card is full - comes with a 8GB SD card - I put a 16GB in mine. The night recording is not perfect but good enough.

Link to the camera that is at Flying J truck stops - http://www.topdawgelectronics.com/pr...-dvr-dash-cam/

At least, people with crappy cars always push the limits figuring you will yield the right of way.

I'm late to this thread (and, full disclosure, I haven't read the whole thread yet), but it is obvious that damage was going to exceed $1,000. Based on my T&E, the cop who showed up just didn't want to do the paperwork.
