Cruise Control (CC) appeared to be inop

The dash Main Lite was on but the paddle switch wouldn't activate CC.

This might be old news to many but the solution was ...
to shift out of 2nd and return to Drive.

So you were trying to set the cruise in 2nd gear?

Re: Cruise Control (CC) appeared to be inop

That certainly sounds like an odd driving condition... especially to be setting the CC.

Re: Cruise Control (CC) appeared to be inop

I was in town (slow 'n go traffic) and didn't realize I was in 2nd gear.
Once traffic finally got moving I tried to set the CC at 35. It didn't work.

Can't say I'm surprised but at the same time I didn't know that.

Re: Cruise Control (CC) appeared to be inop

I assume you know that by selecting 2, the transmission is locked in 2 and never downshifts to 1 to start (like the old GMs used to do).

In my OM, it's on page 204 under Automatic transmission:

Re: Cruise Control (CC) appeared to be inop

I consulted my OP manual once, something to do with setting the radio?
