Well, here is my review of Tonneau cover made by BasicKoncepts. Kudos to Brian at BasicKoncepts for always keeping me informed of the status of my order and creating such a well built and low cost product. The reason I went with this cover, as opposed to Retrax, was the ease of installation and removal and because it allows the trunk lid to fully open instead of stopping at the rails or should I say "trax".
The cover weighs in at approximately 60 lbs. and is well built. Each rail is held in by 5 screws and has a foam gasket on which the cover rests on and the pins (3 per side, 2 near the cab and 1 near the tailgate) on the cover lock under the rails. Brian clarified this for me and that is the weight of the cover resting on the foam gasket will hold the cover in place. This makes sense and it holds true.
Locking the cover to the rails is as easy as pushing the spring loaded handle and ensuring the pins are below the rail.
Overall, this is a great product and to all those who are looking for a cover, I recommend this one. I also purchased the manual tailgate lock which a while back and both products compliment eachother and make for a secure cargo bed.
I did not include any pics because there are a lot of picutes already posted for this cover. Just do a search for "BasicKoncepts".
