I purchased these brand new and they have been on my truck for 100 miles, 3 days. I have decided I dont need them. I simply dont use them to get in and out of the truck and prefer the non bar look. They are in perfect condition and like new.
I will take $200 shipped. Paypal only, first to paypal the money gets the oval tube steps. By the way, i have had a ton of different brands steps and bars over the years. These are probably the best crafted and best looking bars I have seen. My brother in law has Westin and these blow them away in appearance and craftmanship. The plastic step pad is far superior to others. These fit great.
Sure. I'll get some pics tomorrow. To be honest, i have seen OEM. They are nice, but IMO they dont look as good as these. Honestly, if my wife wouldnt have complained about me spending the money I would keep them. I was a bit worried when i bought them, i had never had Raptor brand. However once I got them and installed them I was pleasantly surpised, they really look good. I will get some pics tomorrow.
Thank you sir! Too bad that wasnt where I got them and I paid well over that price. I noticed this site is always helpful price shopping for your whether they are intersted or not when you are trying to sell something but never prior to buying. Thanks Jaded!
Anyways, I am open to offers however for much less than the $200 shipped it wouldnt be worth my time and efforts to take them off and deal with shipping them.
Also if anyone has any OEM Ridgeline Running boards I would possibly work out a trade if you are intersted. Thanks.
so where are the pics? i want to see how they sit on truck compared to oem. do they sit higher up or do they sit down low like some other brands. maybe a side shot and a front angle shot would do.
Thanks for your interest Jimmied. However, once I saw you can get them for $200 new I decided just to keep them for the time being. It really isnt worth my time to take them off, package them, and eat the shipping costs once I sold them used. Probably only put 100 or so in my pocket. As for now I have decided to keep them, however tomorrow could be a different story.
I might still consider trading for some OEM boards.
I will still try and take some pics (its been to cold to mess with it) to post for others to see how they look, they truly are a very good looking step. I was impressed with the design and construction. The quality and durability is the best I have seen of any step.
I am looking into OEM or aftermarket running boards, side steps or tube steps for my '09 RTL, which sits higher than my '06 RTL, making entry / exit awkward for me as I am trying to avoid sliding and putting pressure on the sides of the seat. My goal is to make entry / exit easier (and avoid sliding on / stressing the seat). I am 5'11", 180 lbs with size 12 feet.
1) Do the Raptor tubes sit in the right place to comfortably step onto and then into the RL (without sliding on the seat)?
2) Why would you even consider replacing the Raptor Oval Tubes for OEM Running Boards? Is it an entry / exit comfort reason?
No Problmem. I will get some pictures. I am thinking about selling or trading in my ridgeline. If that happens it is possible i might have several items for sale.
I wanted the running boards over the steps because I had intentions on putting 22's on my 06 Ridgeline. The boards are more of a street look which is what I was going for with the 22's.
With that said I actually sold my 06 Ridgeline that had the raptors on it. I purchased a used 2008 Ridgeline RTL that had the OEM Honda Chrome steps on the vehicle.
I too have a size 12 shoe and the OEM steps are about worthless as far as trying to use them. They are up higher and in tighter to the vehicle. I like that look better, however the functionality with the OEM tubes are not there. The Raptors on the other hand are a little lower, and further away from the body. There is not doubt that function, and quality is much higher on the Raptors. That is my opinion and I have had both the Raptors and OEM tube step bars within the last month.
In short if you want to use your steps, go with Raptor. If you want the step for looks, aka covering up the terrirble looking weld seam then go with the OEM since they are higher up and tighter to the body.
We have a set of Oval Raptors. I took some close-up picutres for you. Second one is driver door open. Hope that they help. Have never kicked the body and they do support your foot.
What do you think about the OEM Running Boards? Would they solve hiding the welds AND making stepping into / out of the RL as easy as or easier than the Raptors?
If you want to completely cover the weld seams buy the OEM.
If you want a step that is functional buy the Raptors. IMO the OEM's are not usable. They are to close to the truck and to high up for my big foot. If I use the OEM step to get in I have to duck down.
So for looks to hide the weld seam go with OEM. For a very good looking board with functionality get the Raptors.
