Over 400 miles on a tank! What's your longest?

I drove 413 miles on a tank this week. It took 20.8 gallons to fill it back up, 19.8 MPG. I've only had one tank with better mileage, it was 21.4 on a trip up to central California, but I didn't go as far.

I don't think I'll do this too often, I realy wasn't sure I would make it in to the office this morning. The light had been on for at least 30 miles, and the needle was below the red line (barely).

So, what's your longest tank?

Eric

431 miles was all highway (From Durango, CO to just before San Jon) with cruise AC set to auto. Me, the wife, my two boys, a full trunk, and a box that weigh 150lbs of stuff I take when I go to the mountains.

I have been getting 335 miles with about 4 gallons left in the tank. Truck has about 1k miles, so still new. I notice now that I am being more of a lead foot after the break in period. I need to stop that to save on gas but don't you love the sound of our engine and the pick up this things got.

Ramzey -

I am having just about exactly what you describe here, (including the desire to leadfoot is more.....).

Re: Over 400 miles on a tank! What's your longest?

One of the techs at my last visit saw that I had ran mine up to about 330 or so and the light was on. He told me not to let it run too low on a tank because the fuel pumps were susceptable to failure if done to many times. Makes me think the filter is not adequate? FYI.
