You asked for it, you got it!

I just added a Photography Forum to the ROC! Please keep the images "clean" the same rules will apply as the rest of the ROC in terms of what is and isn't allowed.

Let's turn this into a great addition to the site. If you know of any threads that would be better served by being moved into this forum send me a PM with a link to the thread itself and I'll get it moved.

If you want to sell or purchase camera equipment, please use the Trading Post Forum.

Enjoy and let's all learn a lot!

Super, thanks. I'm looking forward to any helpful hints on Digital Photography anyone may want to offer. I know I'm not utilizing my Canon S2IS to its fullest.

I have one important favor to ask of everyone who will be using this forum (and the same holds true for any image in any of your posts, for that matter)...

PLEASE try to upload your images to some of the online photo/image hosting services and use that as your storage location. Then, simply have the image display within your post here on the ROC. Over time, images take lots and lots of hard drive space for these forums. Hard drive space gets eaten up, servers must be upgraded and costs go up. Many of you do this already, but many do not.

So, please do what you can. Thanks for your help and cooperation.

Question Re: You asked for it, you got it!

Understandable request, T Mac. However, it would be easier to fulfill your request with more detailed instructions, even though you say "simply". I have no experience with hosting services. How do I link from there to my post here? Is it just a link or does it actually display the pics here then?

Re: You asked for it, you got it!

I will start with two pictures, one is of the Big Lagoon School house north of where I live along 101, there is almost always a herd of elk laying around in the meadow around the building. The second is of a rose in my garden , the picture is posterized in the camera. I will have to search for an online method, I have a large computer so I can keep as many on it at one time. I currently have over 5500 pictures in I-photo.

Good idea, T Mac. One suggestion...if you didn't have the option of uploading the images to the ROC and instead had directions for hot linking in the FAQ, we would be forced to host elsewhere.
