Truxxx lift kit installer in SoCal?

I called ahead to see if a local off-road shop that does a lot of lifts could do the install and for how much but was told most likely no, because they don't supply the kit and don't work on Honda's sooo.. I was wondering if anyone knows of a reputable place in SoCal who will install the lift kit? Also.. Which tires go best? General, Yokohama, there are so many and I probably will never *really* off-road, but don't want to keep the small tires on either. Thanks in advance for any help.

I got my kit installed on a grease monkey shop (I live in Mexico). You can try any Discount Tire Co. or Speedee or so; as the work involved is the same work required for a strut change, so any suspension / tire dealer should be able. Make sure they align properly. I have not changed yet my tires; It looks ridiculous with the stock ones I´m going to buy 255/75/17 BFGoodrich All Terrains; the best tire. I have AT's on my FJ Criuser and an old Wagoneer and work great on and off road. Good luck. Enjoy.

you should do this yourself, it's very simple with the right tools that will cost less than the install charge and you'll likely have enough left over for the alignment

I am also looking into doing this install in my garage. What am I looking at as far as the install goes? Tools, tips, etc.?

You will need metric sockets up to 22 mm if you don't pull the axles. I didn't pull mine when I did it but the instructions say you are supposed to. IIRC the axle socket is either 28 or 32 mm. You can rent that socket from your local auto parts store if they do that sort of thing.

+1 on the breaker bar. It's mandatory. I'd also suggest a set of metric allen wrenches for the sway bar links. They fit in the bolt ends so that the sway bar link ends don't spin when you remove the nuts. A set runs about $5. You might also consider a 17 and 18 mm open ended wrench which is mandatory for getting the bottom bolt off of the front sway bar links. 17 takes off the OEMs and 18 puts the nuts back on the replacement aftermarket sway bar links.

I did this myself and it was not easy if u dont have impact tools or not to sure of yourself. i would leave it up to the grease monkeys.

i was monkeying around with the rear set up for 1 hr till i realized you have to swap assy from rt to Lt.

All you have to do is rotate them 180 degrees around with the Truxx kit. There is no need to swap em' left to right.
