Driver seat stuck on one side

Has anyone experienced having the driver seat forward and backward movement stuck on one side? Moving the lever activates the electric motor on the left side, but the right side seems to be either stuck in place or no electricity going to the console side of the seat motor. The up-down and chair back movement operate normally. The seat twists in place and for obvious reasons I don't want to force it. Will be dropping it off at the dealer in a few days, but would be interested if anyone else has had this happen.

Cheers,

Re: Driver seat stuck on one side

Nope. Double check the tracks and make sure there is no obstruction causing the side of the seat to not move.

Hey, I haven't bumped into you on the ROC in a very long time so I just want to say "Hi!" and ask you why you haven't posted any photos or stories about your adventures in Canada? Or elsewhere if you've been traveling.

I hope you're doing well other than the seat annoyance/mystery.

Re: Driver seat stuck on one side

Checked the rails Mike, nothing blocking the path. It appears to me that either the front right seat motor is dead, or it isn't getting any power from the switch. Given that the only time the seat moves is when my wife drives the truck (maybe a dozen times in the last 3 years), I will be a bit surprised if the motor is dead. Will find out more tomorrow.

Hi Pam,
Yeah, I still peruse the ROC board once in a while, but with 3 kids entering their teenage years.... time is a precious commodity.

Re: Driver seat stuck on one side

My Nissan Quest did the same thing. The first time I called the dealer, they told me to check to see if there is a coin caught in the mechanism somewhere which may be jamming the track. My problem turned out to be a stripped out seat track but I thought I would pass the coin advice on to you since it seemed to make sense.

Re: Driver seat stuck on one side

No coins Chris. My kids usually grab those before they hit the floor!
My dealer took a look at it and will be replacing the entire base. The seat was taken apart once before by them to fix the "moving rails" problem documented by a number of people. Perhaps it had something to do with that. Will get more details when I bring it in to get replaced next week.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Cheers,
