Yosemite and Half Dome

I posted pictures of Yosemite in the Off Topic section and it was moved to the California section. I really wanted everyone to see the pictures, not just the California members. This is my favorite shot of Half Dome and the valley from a lookout point.

Ok, I wondered if I needed to separate "meet" from my photos, I have noticed that many of the members do not go the meet section as often as the upper, more essential sections. That is the peril of a section being at the bottom of the page.

Here are a few more, then I need to check on my rabbits and chickens before I post a few more. It was hot here today, up to 80 and that is hot here.

A most wonderful place. I spent 6 days in the back country Backpacking, covering 70+ miles in this very enchanting place. Stood on the brow of Halfdome early in the morning at sunrise looking across the valley and just awed by the fingerprint of Gods creation. The craziest thing was laying on my stomach and hanging my head over the side looking straight down the face of Halfdome.Much sweat equity given for the trip of a lifetime.

I've been to Yosemite numerous times and have many memories and pictures....I love it......however, my wife's idea of roughing it is a nice room, dinner and champagne at the Queen's table at the Ahwahnee......

I think I walked a good eight to ten miles that day. It was as if I had wings on my feet

. I was flying past many of the people on the trail to Mirror Lake. Once I got to the lake, I kept going till I was along the creek/stream that feeds the lake and opposite of Half Dome. Four nice women had me take their pictures with the dome in the back ground and they offered the same for me.

After having lunch at the pavillon at Curry village where Tony was staying, we walked back to the parking lot to our trucks. While we were at my truck getting salsa, we spotted first one buck and then a second. They allowed me to approach within six feet of them to take their pictures.
