how hard is the washer pump replacement?
I just bought a used 06 Ridgeline from a dealership about 300 miles away.
On the way back I realized washer pump isn't working. I called the dealer, they told me that any local dealer would fix it free of charge because it is a certified used. I haven't talked with the local Honda Dealer about it yet, but if it is something that I can fix relatively easily, then I would just go ahead and do it by myself. I checked the fuse and it was fine. Washer tubes seem to be intact. Just the washer tank so long and goes under frame scares me to go ahead and check it.
If anyone has done the same task of changing washer pump, I would like to have any advise.
I was thinking that I get Trico universal pump.

I trust you are refering to the Windshield Washer pump. Should be easy enough to do by removing the passenger side front inner wheel well splash gaurd and the mud gaurd.

On a similar note, my washer water stopped pumping all of a sudden (fluid wasn't low) so I thought maybe water was frozen on the jets. So I defrosted the truck in the garage and poked around the jets with a pen. Now it pumps, but only hits the very bottom of the windshield. How do I change the angle? I tried just prodding around but not much luck.

Put a straight pin (not pen) into the hole of the jet. The jet is adjustable. Move the jet where you think it should be to hit your windshield properly and try it. Keep adjusting the jet until you have it aimed properly.

I don't think they will give you the part for free even if it is under warranty. I think they still want to work on it.

Side note: This same thing happened to my TL the other day. You knew it wasn'ty worked because it would even make a sound as if it was trying to pump the fluid out. Then I remembered there was a recall in the Washer Motor that came out in Feb. I took it in to the Acura dealer to get two Recalls done (the motor and a power streeing pump hose). Whe My wife picked it up to day sure enough they fluid came out. I take it as that the MOTOR which was mentioned is for the wipers to work and that the pump is something else. Thats how I have always seen them I think maybe they thought they broke it and fixed it but nothing was said except thanks for bring it in.

The washer motor is less than $25. I wouldn't use a universal.
