Pleasant service experience

I took my Ridge into the dealer yesterday for an oil change. This dealer has Express Service, no appointment needed. I was in and out in 15 minutes. In addition to the oil change, they load tested the battery ( printout included), checked all lights, engine codes, exhaust system, and suspension. They checked for leaks, fluid levels, tire wear ( gave me measurements) and measured break pad wear. They also checked and adjusted tire pressure. All this for under 30 bucks with tax! Man, I like my dealer -
This service department is also open until midnight Monday thru Friday.

Re: Pleasant service experience

I really like my local dealer's service department. I havent seen service like this since the 70s from a BMW dealer. I think I'm going to be Honda for life.

BTW - My service manager also drives a Ridgeline, visits this site, and is planning to attend our area meet in September.

Talk about having a great rapport with your Service Manager and team.

I really like Honda..

Klein Honda in Everett, WA has provided 3+ years of exceptional service. I just wish they had loaner vehicles, even if they charged for it.

Lexus of Seattle has a rockin' service department. From the onsite barista to the fresh chocolate cookies in the afternoon. I love the new loaner cars that they offer. (yes, I know we pay for it in the service bill)

Owning multiple cars myself, it is something it is somewhat schizophrenic taking them to their various service departments.

For the Ford: Good service over the years. They haven't tried to play games with me on things and just do what I tell them to do. It's a big diesel so it can be expensive, but I do a lot of the maintenance myself. Even though it is well out of warranty, on two larger jobs they've offered loaners, though I didn't need them.

Honda: No complaints on the service at either dealer I've gone to for service (with the exception of the whole starter noise thing...another thread). For any warranty-related issues, a rental of equivalent class was provided (Impala for the Civic when it was in, and a RAM1500 when the Ridgeline was in...it was the smallest truck they had at the rental place that day.

VW: Service has been great, fast, and no games. Had a rental offered on the 30K mile service. No loaners or rentals provided otherwise (have had no warranty issues)

• Lexus: Absolutely fantastic service, and a free loaner (IS, ES, or RX) anytime your vehicle is in, even for a minor service/inspection. Just need to make an appointment for one ahead of time, or if they are not all loaned out you can request one upon arrival. No need to replace fuel either. This has really spoiled my outlook. The customer lounge is fantastic as well with all of the food, drink, wireless, great seating, etc.

• Jeeps are so old I do all of my own maintenance or use a private shop.

Re: Pleasant service experience

its really rare for me to go to the dealer for service, unless theres a warranty covered issue or a recall i never go, but if i do i get a free loaner just because we know people there (accord or crv) the service people suck, but the service waiting room is good free donuts and wireless internet and a phone, but my cell doesnt work there

i just go to shell for oil changes, the person there is great he isnt one of those *******s the jump in the car and slam on the gas, he treats the car like its his own, i wish i could remember his name

My Acura Dealership still gives my new loaner cars after 9yrs with my TL. I had to get the car towed in to the dealership last week to have it checked out. My dealership is 20 miles from my house so I called AAA to get it towed in on Sat so I knew they would not get to look at it before Mon. When I put the key into the envelope for drop off the young lady at the counter said do you need a loaner car. I told her no I had one. Nothing serious with the car & while there had them change my oil. But a new TL loaner would have been nice.
