Bug deflector issue
I bought an AVS II deflector last year and mounted it on the RL. Recently I just happened to notice that the left front of the deflector is lightly rubbing the front fender at the edge. But it must only happen at speed since there's plenty of clearance at a standstill.
Anyone else see this? ![]()

Re: Bug deflector issue
put some 3M tape on that end. That should hold it steady (and will come off if you ever want it to)

Re: Bug deflector issue
Usually they come with those little clear dots that you stick on the body to protect it in the spots where it moves and can rub. You can buy them at a hardware store

Re: Bug deflector issue
Good ideas.
Just seems strange that it would do this at all... especially on the left side which appears to be a bit farther from the fender than the right side, which shows no sign of contact at all. Last edited by speedlever; 10-12-2009 at 05:15 AM. Reason: changed context |

Re: Bug deflector issue
If you could watch it when at highway speeds, I suspect it has a slight wiggle.

Re: Bug deflector issue
I was having the same issue and I just went up to the local hardware and got 4 clear little stick on balls like the ones mentioned above and put the in the spots where it was possible for the deflector to rub. Havent had a problem since.

Re: Bug deflector issue
I bought a Honda deflector and it works well. I will check to see if it scratches my fender.

Re: Bug deflector issue
No scratches from my Honda bug deflector. FYI: The sides are very firm and I see no marks or scratches.
