Has anyone Installed a Garmin 850 in their Ridgeline

Just bought a Garmin 850 and I was wondering if anyone has come up with a slick install. I see thats theres lots of clips/adapters etc. I'm looking to see what other Ridgeline owners have used to install. Thanks for your assistance

Re: Has anyone Installed a Garmin 850 in their Ridgeline

I have the Nuvi 780 that stays primarily in my ridge. I periodically move it to my sedan so I needed a mounting method that would be easy to change. I mounted the unit next to my A-pillar;

...and ran the cord down the side of my dash (you can tuck it in the rubber seal along the side of the dash)

I then tuck the cord under the dash and over a bracket to keep it from hanging:

and plug it in to the left power outlet:

It takes about 30 seconds to install but keeps the wire neat while it's in.

I bought three parts from ProClip.

1. The Vehicle mount (clips and adhesive taped to dash between vent and radio)
2. The Extension plate (raise the gps so I have clear access to the radio dials)
3. The Device (ball) mount (attaches the nuvi to the vehicle mount)

I like Proclip because it is well designed, manufactured and of quality material (but it is pricey). I found another vendor for the Device mount that was about $25 less expensive if you pursue this option.

Good Luck!

Re: Has anyone Installed a Garmin 850 in their Ridgeline

I mounted my Garmin in the similar space but I hard wired mine using the following cable. This lets me still use the original cable in another vehicle if I want.

Thanks for the info. I'll give ebay a look for the cable and Proclip for the attachments
Thanks
