Rear Power Window THUD!

Not a huge deal, but do all Ridgelines' rear window's (NOT side window) make an awful thud of the glass bangin into the metal frame? Mine does.

It's not a quiet thump like when you role the side windows up and they seat into their rubber weather stripping, it's loud and sounds like the glass is slamming into it's seat pretty hard.

(ALREADY SEARCHED FOR A THREAD ON THIS!)

Re: Rear Power Window THUD!

You should do a search on the rear window in this forum. I remember a tread about the rear window breaking into pieces while closing.

Re: Rear Power Window THUD!

Not sure if this will help, but I believe that shovelhd recommended a lubricant for the back window....can't remember the name of it, but it has a Japanese name so it might be available at the dealer......

probably Shin-Etsu grease. Comes in a white tube with blue and green label. Pretty expensive stuff.

Mine does it once in a while when i go to open it. Is that what your getting or is it when your closing it?

Mine does the same thing...closes really hard with a bang. It closes so hard that it sounds like it's possible it might shatter.

Re: Rear Power Window THUD!

My '06 RL and '07 RL did not do it but my '10 does. I will take it to the shop as soon as the weather breaks to get it fixed. It is not a question of grease - the track and the glass have slightly different curvatures that I think could be fixed with a little "tweaking of the track. I will not do this as glass breakage is a real possibility!

Re: Rear Power Window THUD!

Mine does the same. But I open and close it again immediately and the thud does not occur. My dealer did lubricate the track but it still does it.
