Remote Start

A friend of mine has the factory remote start for his pilot and really likes it. It has some nice features. Do they offer one for the Ridgeline? I have not been able to find one

Re: Remote Start

There are lots of discussion threads here about remote starters. Honda doesn't offer one, but you've got your pick from a handful of aftermarket versions.

Re: Remote Start

Thanks for the info. I realize their are a ton of after market units, but I'll never had that done again after the problems I had with my Tundra

Re: Remote Start

Not sure what your experience was with your Tundra (but we've all had a nightmare at one point or another with an R.S.) todays units actaully have a dialogue with the car rather than just being relays and switches...while more complex to get working, once they do there is a lot less to fail.

I'm not an installer or a vendor nor do I have anything to do with these if you buy one, I'm just saying...no need to go without as the technology is there.

When I had my remote start installed in my 05 Tundra the place screwed up the wiring. They were "Approved" by the Toyota dealer. It took them 4 days to fix the problem. The truck at the time had 200 miles on it and Toyota washed their hands of it.

Re: Remote Start

Not with a big "H" stamped on it, no. If they did, I probably would have opted for it on mine when I bought it.

I'm due for my first service - I'm thinking about talking to my rep (who I've been dealing with for more than a decade now) to see if they have 3rd party units they install there. (Service dealership is not the one I bought my RL from, in case you're wondering)

Re: Remote Start

So I have to asked. Why the heck doesn't Honda have a factory remove for the Ridgeline? Any guesses? The have a really nice one for the pilot. The trucks can't be that different.
