World Cup 2010

I can't be the only soccer person in this place. Anyone else going to watch every game possible starting Saturday?

Re: World Cup 2010

First big game of interest to me is the US/UK game on Saturday. Of course, I'll be busy with the Sedona VI meet that day,but might catch some of the game during our lunch time festivities.

I've got lots of cousins in England (and Ireland) so it is becoming quite the 'rivalry' on my FB page!

I hope we can keep Rooney from having a hat trick! This game will surely test our team. On another note, my son's u16 squad just won the state championship!

At birth soccer was injected into my blood. But being an American born in the UK, the USA vs England is a hard game to watch. Go USA, Go England.

Re: World Cup 2010

I will be watching most of the games, I think groups A and G are the toughest groups.

USA England will be a great match for a Saturday, don't miss the opening concert on Thursday.

USA has a record of being almost last in one world cup and get to almost quaterfinals in the following World Cup in the last 16 years. In the Last one they finished almost last, and this time maybe they will do better. This Coach is better and the beat Spain (the #1 rated team) not long ago.

I have not analyzed how the matches will flow in the charts but I am willing to say that Argentina and Spain have what it takes to be in the Final game.
The Argentinian coach messed up last world cup by not putting Messi thinking than a taller player will be better to face the Germans and they lost in PK's, they would have faced Italy and probably face France in the final.

Funny, Dtv will broadcast in 3D HD, but I will settle for HD

My guess was Spain or Argentina in the final as prev post and I am still sticking to it, but Looking at the bracket from the other side the 4 teams I pick are again Spain Argentina and on the other side the Netherlands and Brasil.

1st choice Netherlands - Argentina.- rematch from 1978
2nd choice Brasil -Spain.- Be good to see Spain win one for a change.

I guess italy and France met again but not in the final like in 2006, this time was at the airport to go home.

Sorry the US did not make it, they had so many chances to score in all games, the wore out themselves and mentally also. I wish they would just put the ball in the net deflect it with a good touch like other teams do, rather than just take a high strong shot when it should be low and a low strong shot when it should be high. I would have liked them play Uruguay, at least they did better than in 2006.
