Pkg from Honda - 4 plastic tire valve caps

Anyone else get these in the mail? The enclosed letter from Honda goes on to explain that the original metal tire valve caps that came with my Ridge may rust in place and be difficult to remove. They then go on to explain that if you are unable to swap them yourself.... you can make an appointment for your dealer to do it! I did them myself

Me too! Or better yet I'll change em to billet ones and use a little dab of anti seize.

I haven't seen the letter either, but I sure hope it comes with detailed instructions. I don't want to have to drive all the way to the dealer to have them installed.

Sounds like a difficult job... heh.

I haven't received that in the mail yet, though.

I didn't get a notice either. Did you have to bring the notice with you to the dealership to get the replacement caps, or did they just swap them out for you?

Re: Pkg from Honda - 4 plastic tire valve caps

I have not received mine yet but I can understand why there could be a problem. Every time that I check the tire pressure there is a substantial amount of water that sprays out from the valve body when the gauge is first attached. It is more water than one would expect from condensation caused by the sudden drop in air pressure from inside the tire to what leaks out as the gauge is first attached. I thought that it was odd but only started to pay attention within the past few weeks. I do wash the truck frequently but still don't understand how water was getting under the cap. Maybe the new caps will eliminate the water. Has anyone else noticed the water?

That's dissappointing...I really liked the original valve caps.
