Ridgeline bogging down

I'm not sure if this topic goes here, but anyways. This past weekend i was offroading with my RL in sandy conditions, I had the VSA switched off. For the most part it did really well out there except I noticed that i had to keep the gas pedal floored in a lot of areas, and when it was floored i noticed that it wouldn't power through anything unless i was already moving at a decent speed and the rpm's wouldn't go past 2 to 3000, it would just bog down and I would have to reverse and try a different route. I even tried going into 1st. It almost got me stuck a few times. On the road it drives great with no problems. Do the RL's not perform well in the sand? Is the VSA system completely defeatable when it is switched off? What do you guys think and have any of you noticed this problem?

Re: Ridgeline bogging down

I have not taken mine in soft sand but I have seen a few posts from others about beach sand riding. Most have lowered there tire pressure when in soft sand. Search out the off road threads there is a few....

...and pulled the VSA fuse since lowering tire pressure will cause a low tire pressure warning which prevents VSA from being turned off.
