Leaks - water/trunk

Was searching to see of anyone experienced leaks with the trunk. Some months ago I noticed a couple of inches of water in the bottom of the trunk. Opened the plug to drain it and have not figured out how the water got in there. Has there been a problem with the gaskets or something else? For now I have just left the plug out. I suppose I could have not properly shut the trunk????

Also I noticed that when it rains and my truck is parked front-end low, water will accummulate in the forward part of the bed. It will eventually go away but I would have thought it would drain faster than it does. I don't like it since sitting water creates rust.

So far I have not experience the seemingly common leaks inside on the driver's side.

Check around the seal (and the underside of the trunk door) to see if there is any debris, such as tree leaves/twigs, obstructing it. I park near a tree and there is frequently something fallen onto the truck bed, ready to float down into the trunk area when I open it.

2nd for check around gasket as I had a small twig in mine and it created bad seal and leak. Cleaned out gasket and all is fine.....

One good thing the bed won't rust!!
The water should drain in the front of the bed between the panel below the rear window and the truck bed floor. Take a hose and blast the crack between the panels to clear out the debris.
