All 3 power outlets kaput after oil change
I took our 08 ridgeline into the dealership for our first oil change since we've owned it, when I got it back I have no power in any of my power outlets. I know they are two different fuses so I don't think that is the problem. I know they ran a battery test that came out low. The rating is at 550 cca which is a little lower than 12.60v, at least that is what the reading they gave me says. So I guess my question is can a low charged battery make the power outlets not work, or is there something the technicians can do on a battery test that would blow out both fuses on my power outlets?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! |

I don't have the answers to any of your questions, but if your dealer ran a test on the battery and now none of your outlets work I'd take it back to them ASAP, to prevent them from blaming it on something else.

I second the motion. Like you said there are two different circuits to the power outlets. I'd take it back and ask them what they did to blow both of them.

Re: All 3 power outlets kaput after oil change
As this is a somewhat new to you vehicle, is it safe to assume all the outlets were working and that you realize all the outlets are dead unless the ignition switch is on?

Re: All 3 power outlets kaput after oil change
Thanks guys, I probably should have turned around soon as I noticed, but it's the wife's truck and I wasn't sure exactly if they worked when I took it in. She said both of the front power outlet worked the day before. I tried two different chargers while the truck was running with nothing worked, then used them on my civic and both worked fine. I will double check again to make sure I didn't do anything stupid, I've been known to overlook things. I'll let you know the verdict when we take it back in tomorrow.
Thanks for the help, Kevin |
