Driver Door Not Locking with FOB

Hey all,

I've been searching this site for over a week now in an effort too correct an issue that is beating me. I am no longer able to use my Key FOB to lock the Drivers door. The other three doors lock but not the Drivers. No confirmation Horn nor lights flashing. Here's what I have done thus far;
  • Replaced battery in FOB
  • Replaced Battery and Terminals
  • Replaced Fuse
I am able to use the manual method to lock all doors.

I looked into the Hood Switch but unclear on how to test. I don't get an indication on the dash if the hood is open and not certain if it would indeed affect this issue of mine.

Any input is appreciated.

Cheers,

Re: Driver Door Not Locking with FOB

Might it need to be reprogramed? If not maybe an issue in drivers door.

Re: Driver Door Not Locking with FOB

my guess would be the door lock actuator. If thats what it is, cost is about $20-$30 bucks for parts

See if this helps:

I can probably get you the other tests if you want them.

Re: Driver Door Not Locking with FOB

Thanks for the responses. It appears I have to get my hands on a manual to perform all these tests. Any help with page 22-139 and 22-147 would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Driver Door Not Locking with FOB

Have you found that the lock is seized up, or is it working well with the key ?

Sticky lock can prevent the latch assembly from power-locking. Hose the insides of all your locks with aerosol graphite if it's found to be sticking. Don't forget the ignition lock too if it's been neglected.

The test referred to on 22-139 is about 7 pages of the FSM. I can post that if you want. Not sure it's for the faint of heart though.

Here's a sample (page 1.)

Do you want more?

Re: Driver Door Not Locking with FOB

Thanks for this. I'll give this a try.

The weather in Texas is pretty darn good. No salt on roads. I keep my vehicles pretty clean and hand wash only. I don't have any indication that my locking mechanism is clogged with any gooh. Putting a key in the door lock moves easily and freely.

Now I have read a few posts of the hood sensor. I don't see any indicator in the dash that the hood is open. Not certain if that an option on my 06. The posts claim that if any doors including the hood and trunk are not entirely closed, I will get results like I'm reporting. Does anyone know if this is true? I hesitate to pull the door panel(s) off to inspects the locking modules.

Again, thanks for the information. I'll report back my findings hopefully by the weekend.

Cheers,
Rik
