Trailer Wiring Harness

Installed a Curt hitch on my 2008 Ridgeline, went great! Then installed the wiring harness #55585 and the parking lights are not working. All the other lights work fine.
Does anyone have any suggestions or have used this harness? --- Thanks, Rich

Re: Trailer Wiring Harness

Start by checking fuse #4 for the "small lights" in fuse box near drivers left foot. It will probably be fine but it's a place to start.

The harness is pretty simple, yellow on the drivers side, green on passenger side. Black box in the center. If all connectors are plugged in solidly, it would seem odd that all the parking light bulbs would burn out at the same time, so maybe a bad "black box"?

Question...is there any sign that there had been a hitch installed previously? Perhaps through splicing into the wires rather than the t-connectors you are using? If so, maybe a bad connection in the taillight area?

Re: Trailer Wiring Harness

Tried the #4 fuse it looked fine so I disconnected the new T-harness and reconnected the rear lights and the parking lights still don't work. The front two do work but not the rear two. The bulbs look fine. Frustrating. I don't understand the fuse chart as to which fuse it could be. Wouldn't the rear parking lights be on the same fuse as the fronts??
Any help is appreciated!

Re: Trailer Wiring Harness

Thanks for the diagrams, big help but still no rear parking lights. Checked all the fuses and bulbs, something isn't right. Might have to bite the bullet and bring it to the dealer.
They said it's covered if its a wiring problem.

Re: Trailer Wiring Harness

For all you Do-it yourselfers like me, the rear tail-lites are on the #4 fuse under the hood in the primary box labeled "small lights". Thanks for all the info!!
And for everyones knowledge, The rear yellow tail-lites are for directionals only. As it turned out, everything was cool!! No problems except my stupidity!!
