VSA light

I dropped the truck off this morning at a shop (NOT A FRIGGIN HONDA DEALERSHIP....shame on me.) They appear confident about tracking it down and fixing it. I just hope it does not hurt too much.

I am also getting them to replace the front right strut assembly...I left them with a new OEM Honda pre-loaded strut. I had planned on doing this myself, but I can't make time for it. They said they'd change it out for $90.

I suspect I'm looking at $1,000 for the VSA BS.

Re: VSA light

Did you also get an ABS light turned on? Because sometimes the wheel spin sensors get out of alignment (the tone-ring, located on the hub) and the computer doesn't know if the wheel is turning or not. I say this because you also mentioned suspension work..

Re: VSA light

No, it has never activated. Just the Triangle with the ! and the VSA light have been on. For 18-24 months.

Re: VSA light

Yeah, I read that thread. Didn't tell me much.

The indy shop couldn't read the codes/interact with the system...whod'a thunk. He suggested I unplug the VSA controller connector, apply some di-electric grease to the terminals and plug it back in.

I'm going to try that. If it keeps the lights off, so be it. If it doesn't, well, I'm going to strategically negotiate with the area Honda dealers. After I've consumed some mind-altering and nerve-calming drugs. Some of you love you some dealership, I can't stand to drive by them, much less drive onto the lot.

The shop owner agreed with me- negotiate with the dealer. Make them diagnose the problem and they have one shot at fixing it, after that, it's theirs.

Re: VSA light

Have you rebooted the RL? (disconnected the battery.)

I doubt that will help... but you never know.

Re: VSA light

You could say that...I changed the battery about 9 months ago.

Nothing changed.

I do think there is a legitimate problem. I fear it's the controller. They are not cheap. This is a common problem it seems.

Re: VSA light

I hope it's an easy and cheap fix. I really haven't noticed much if any issues with it here on the ROC. The few threads that I've seen haven't been exactly definitive solving the problem.
