VentShade Vent Visor install

We got our Vent Visors just a day or two before our Canada trip last summer. We were grateful to have them in all the rain storms we encountered on our trip. We were able to leave the windows open for the dogs without rain coming inside.

I've been meaning to post these pics for a long time. The recent posts inquiring about vent visors prompted me to quit procrastinating.

This is undoubtedly one of the simplest installs around. These photos are only to demonstrate the ease of the project. Do not hesitate to do this yourself.

It takes less than fifteen minutes. The instructions are straight forward, though we found the diagram marked the back visors incorrectly. You cannot put them in the wrong window. They won't fit.

We used a dry rag to clean the rubber seals prior to using the alcohol pads that were provided.

After the dry wipe we still got a lot of grime off with the alcohol wipes. The trickiest part of the job was getting the red tape to start. A sharp tool to get under the edges is useful.

You peel off the two inches or so on the vertical sides and then peel back about a two inch tail on the horizontal edges.

You place each one in its window with the red tape tails dangling and then you pull the red plastic off to expose the sticky suface. Press firmly in place. Raise your windows and leave them up for 24 hours.

That's it. Simple, huh? We are very pleased with the results.

Thanks. We especially like our pin stripe too. It's very unique. Here's a link if you want a closer look:

I installed mine in minutes too. Looks and works great. I did have to apply some pressure on the tape to allow my one touch driver window to close without rebounding back down. Real tight fit, but works great.

Re: VentShade Vent Visor install

The vent shade installation is indeed very simple. They were the first thing I put on after I bought the Ridgeline in May and I will never have a vehicle without them. BUT, I often have the problem, as I've reported here many times, of the window automatic up feature not working. It does not happen all the time but most of the time the window saftey feature senses the in-channel part and retracts to the half way down position. It seems the cleaner the window the better it works but I don't want to have to wash the window every other day.

Wow truckin, this has got to be one of the most concise and well documented installs I’ve seen on the ROC. Great photos too. For a second it appeared that the “BigGuy” had whacked himself with the sharp knife but after further investigation we see that he’s wearing a tie dye shirt of some kind!

Yep, same exact situation on my Ridge. Can make ya nuts! If you put the window up in short "bursts" or increments utill fully up (not letting it go fully up on it's own), it'll stay up.
