Talking First snow!

Bought my Amazon Green Ridge on 12-31-05. Woke up this morning in South Jersey to about 4 inches of snow and ice. I took my RTL to the local high school to try it out. What a vehicle! I tried my best to make this truck spin out, but as hard as I tried, I could only manage a slite movement in the back wheel that was immediately compensated for. I was driving on solid ice and I could not make this truck spin out! I went home and got my wife so she could try the truck out. She does not drive in snow, let alone ice, and she was equally amazed by the trucks performance. I think I have lost my RTL to her during periods of bad weather. Thanks Honda for a great truck!

Re: First snow!

That's a great report. DH wasn't able to get ours to spin out in the parking lot either. Nice feeling, isn't it?

Welcome to the ROC and we hope to hear a lot more from you. Get your wife to register too. We women are way outnumbered on here.

Re: First snow!

If you dont want to have your wife drive your truck all the time do what I do. Always talk to her about it. Dinner, driving, while watching tv. When a Honda commercial comes on make every one be quiet and turn up the volume. Then she will be so sick of you, she wont want to drive your truck. Ive been doing this since April. it works.

A VERY important comment. The Ridgeline will not spin around (i.e. donuts, cookies, rosies, etc.), but it will still slide.

Re: First snow!

I would guess until they put spiked tires on cars, all cars will be able to slide. And the Ridgeline may be able to do donuts if you turn off VSA.

Re: First snow!

Congratulations on your Ridgeline purchase, what a way to ring in the New Year!!!!! When I lived in Pittsburgh I used to love to go shopping in Joisey (no sales tax on clothes!!!)

Dang, that's too bad that it slides and doesn't spin, I love doing donuts! We are having unusually warm weather here so the most I can hope for is to get to put the wipers on high.

Even then I couldn't. The VTM-4 would not allow me to put all the power to one axle and "spin" the Ridgeline. When the VSA was turned off, I could only plow through the turns (or understeer) and rev the engine.
