I wonder if this is anything like Honda's CVT (Constant Velocity Transmission)?
Its apparently 97%-98% efficient. Typical automatic transmissions are only about 80% efficient with a 20% parasitic power loss. Although I am not sure how this will allow a 50% increase in gas mileage. However with this coupled to the new Air Engine technology which requires no gas or oil, bamn that is the future.
