Smile 2013 or 2014 Honda Ridgeline

Dear Honda Ridgeline Owners,

This is my first post! Im happy to be part of the forum. I am possibly in the market for a new Honda Ridgeline and I would genuinely appreciate feedback and suggestions. I have never owned a Honda before. This would be my first. I have test drove the Nissan Frontier, Tacoma, and the Ridgeline RTS. The Ridgeline was my favorite.

Is everyone happy with there Ridgelines particularly in long term reliability? Will this vehicle have costly repairs down the road. It would be my daily driver and my wife and son would use it for long road trips twice a year.

I like the exterior of the Sport trim vs the RTS, but it rides on 18s. Can anyone comment if the ride quality would be more harsh in that trim? Rubber, struts, and brakes would probably wear and tear more I am guessing here due to rim weight.

Thanks for any feedback. Much appreciated.

Current vehicles:

2000 jeep Cherokee Sport 160k miles original owner. No problems. Transporting it to Europe very soon to a relative. Love it, but rides like a tank. Terrible ride quality.

I had a 2006 with 17" and a 2009 with 18" and you cannot tell the difference in the ride.

You cannot go wrong - I am on my second Ridgeline some of the club members are on their third Ridgeline. A few have well over 200,000 miles.

The 199 fill ups on my 2009 Ridgeline - I just had 8 wonderful years in the Ridgeline but the Electronics are too many generations behind.

I bought a 2013 white sport, if I did it over again I would buy the RTS. For a little more money you get the dual climate control , I believe power seat, sub for the sound system and same color door handles as the body, don't really care for the black handles on mine.

I'm on #4. I believe there's one other poster on here who is as well. Dual climate is a must if you are married and your spouse is always hot in the winter when you're freezing (my experience LOL). I begin to think they came with the sport option to sell more RT's since it sounds like that is what they basically are. I don't believe there is that much difference in a 13 to a 14 model so save a little money if you can.

I'm currently on #2. Sold the first one because I thought I wanted to move on. Couldn't stand not having a Ridgeline. You won't be sorry...

Let us know what you decide...

Re: 2013 or 2014 Honda Ridgeline

I just bought my 1st Honda Ridgeline (2013 Grey RTL w/Nav) 2 months ago. I've owned Fords, Chevys and Dodge Rams and this Honda is by far the best truck I've ever owned. The ride is fantastic, the handling is great and I can't think of anything that I don't like about this truck. It's rated 15 - 21 mpg and I am consistently getting an average 22.2 mpg. I just put a BAKflip VP Tonneau cover on and it increased my mpg. by about 1 mpg. and looks great too. You won't regret your purchase.......

Re: 2013 or 2014 Honda Ridgeline

We went for the '13 as the deal was just too good. Traded our '07 with 81,000 flawless miles. Didn't even need brakes in 6 years and my wife uses them! Very dependable ride--just be sure to maintain it properly. 2014's will most likely be the same exact truck, so if you get a great offer on a '13, go for it.

Love the truck. We are on our second one too. Dual climate is a must.
