Well I been getting a lot of help from this forum and many ideas, so I finally decided to post something that is real popular and make a huge difference in the looks of the RL. I bought this LED package from eBay for less than $30, less if you dont have to pay the California tax. http://www.ebay.com/itm/16-x-Xenon-...a|Model:Ridgeline&hash=item338576240a&vxp=mtr
Lots of pictures here from the black box to before and after looks.

This is how it looks at night, the pictures do not come close as to how bright it looks in person, it makes my 20% tint looks like it has not tint at all.

the bottom LED shown in the last picture was not included in the package but with a message to the seller, the led bulb was added.

Nice . Sometimes older vehicles are better .
I can't do all those changes on a 22 ridgeline rtl-e . Some say leds will work, or need resistors . Mostly want signal lights.
cool and thanks, I just did it today and got the last pics tonight and I am impressed, mostly with the vanity light which in my opinion was the ugliest one and I could just not stand it looking so yellow it almost looked orange.
Looks great. I bought my LED's off eBay piecemeal and lets just say, some are better than others. Ive had a few burn out within 6-12 months but most of them are still hanging in there. Ill probly spend a little more for any new led's next time. maybe Vled's or some other site i can't think of right now. Seem to be much better quality.
I just bought the same set smokey! I feel a little bit stupid changing out the interior bulbs in my new truck, but I was completely envious of you guys' artificial-daylight-like light on these dark fall nights.
I was thinking of skipping the license plate lights, and using one from that pair in the rear of the console. Think it will work?
cool, you will love the light but the light from the license plate should work, it is the same bulb type 168. The one you ask for is the only one that I forgot to compare and put in the post. I will try and take a pic of the bulbs just to have a complete post. The license plate lights are not hard at all to remove. The rear console light is a bit more complicated, I used 2 flat head screwdrivers to lift it completely out, one on each corner of the light cover but it should come out.
Smokey i bought the same ones you did from lighturway. They look AMAZING!!!I also wrote about the console bulbs and they included two more bulbs for free.Im excited to see these installed in my 2009 ridgeline. It looks like everything is packaged nicely. I just hope they hold up to use and time.:act064:
By the way, why do they make the license plate light covers with that slash in the top part? I always thought they could have come up with a better design than the way they are.
I just looked at the lights and just whatever made more sense on how to remove them. The only ones that I used Intructions for was for the license plate and I found them here on the forum.
I'm very skeptical of absolutely anything on eBay. I never buy anything from eBay. And don't even have an account. I only bought almost all of mine there because my buddy loves eBay and I paid almost nothing for all my LEDs. 9 out of 10 still working and look great. If you want better quality' I just bought and installed a set of switchback white/Amber LEDs for the parking/turn signal lights bECAUSE the first set I ordered off eBay through my buddy where junk! So I ate the 40$ and bought these. These are amazing. They are different and better than standard switchbacks. All the led's light up unlike most which have 20 white and 20 amber led bulbs or w/e. You need the load resistors to prevent hyper flash and blowing a fuse, to make sure the switchback function works properly. As long as these last forever, lol, they are worth it. They are so bright and crisp looking. Better than any led bulb I've installed prior or seen on any vehicle. http://store.ijdmtoy.com/Switchback-3157-LED-Corner-Blinker-Signal-Lights-p/led_dc_3157_sku39.htm
Give vLEds or ijdmtoy a try if you're worried about quality!
In my mind I imagine there being 1-2 factories making these bulbs, which means you are probably buying the exact same bulbs as everyone else for more money. Now, if you found some Made in the USA LEDs, I would be down for paying more for those.
I received my kit and was able to install the interior dome & map lights at lunchtime yesterday...when I left work (dark out) I got my first view of how these bad boys work and I was not disappointed. I love how well they light up the interior and the blueish/white light they cast. I am really looking forward to the cargo area lighting improvement. Best $17 I've spent on my RTL so far.
I did run into one issue that I couldn't get the led light for the center console to work. I did find that in a couple of the dome lights I had to reverse the bulb and/or try a different bulb before the eventually worked. hoping I don't have a bad bulb at the lower console.
next step is to convert my fog lights, tail lights & signals. Open to any suggestions as to best kit for converting headlights to HID's
I think they are all 'legit' there is just a large variation in manufacturing quality. So you have to deal with a supplier with a rep of supplying quality bulbs.
CREE makes outstanding components, but I don't think they would be very cost effective for outfitting a vehicle for ambient or accessory illumination. You only have to change the cargo lights to be convinced this is a great way to go.
Reading on this topic, it seems most have had very good results with V_LED and one or two other online stores over a few years now.
We have a couple of CREE equipped flashlights at home, they are super!
I purchased some of the cheap ones for my wife's Lexus and within the first six months, one of them failed. I guess if you just keep the old ones in case of a failure, you'll be good to go.
I like this kit and may jump on it if it's still available.
I think this is awesome. You guys are going to have me completely retrofitting my RL with LEDs by the time this is all said and done. Thanks for sharing the link!
I received mine yesterday as advertised on ebay site, like others have said I only wanted to have brighter lights on doors and cargo but decided to put entire kit on and happy with results, only time will tell if they last.....
If you're asking me, yeah it was no problem, just be patient because the lens covers that snap in must be pried out and they are plastic and you don't want to snap one. I found a video on youtube that showed how to pry some of them out so I had a better idea on how to do it. I didn't break any. And I used die-electric grease on all of the connectors and/or contact points.
