Question Bigger tires

I'm looking for any help that ya'll can give me on finding out what's the largest offroad tires that I can get for my Ridgeline are. I can't lift it because I don't want to lose my warranty but I would like some more clearence when I take it to Arizona next time so I will be able to climb some of the hills with larger ruts. This 4 wheel drive system that Honda put in this truck is awsome and I don't want to waste it by putting 22's on it. Not saying that looks bad but I love taking it offroad it handles very well. Thankyou for any information that ya'll can give me since I'm offshore and can't call out to get the information for myself.

Re: Bigger tires

MHDIVER,

I just lifted my Ridge and also am looking to get a larger tire. The one problem I am encountering is the front spring mounting plate is only about 2.25" above the tire itself and therefore limits overall tire size. I am researching and going to test fit a set of 265/70-r17 BFGoodrich All-Terrain TA KO tires tomorrow . I'll let you know how they work.

hey guys,
i'm in the same process. truxxx lift goes on next week. i tried the michelin 255/70 r17 LTX on the honda rims and i got a little rubbing on the front mud-flap, a little trimming and it may be fine, we'll try again when the lift is done. the tire is 31.1 inches tall which is 1.4 inches bigger than stock (29.7).

there was no problem with the spring/strut at all, still lots of room.

i will also try the michelin 265/65 r17 CrossTerrain, it is only 30.7 inches and this should fit i think.

what lift kit did you use? i like the truxxx for the extra sway bar connectors, but it only lifts 1.5 inches in the rear (leveling). i think i would prefer the 2.0 inches all around.

cheers

Re: Bigger tires

Very interested in hearing about the fit of the BFG A/Ts. Take some pics if possible. That size with a lift should look awesome. If they fit. I have run those tires on my last 3 vehicles and in 7 years never had a flat. Great tires.

Re: Bigger tires

If you get larger tires to suit your needs are you going to be doing any additional mods underneath??

Careful..I tried the 265x70's with a skyjacker lift w/o mud guards and the driverside was clear..but the passenger hit metal at the bottom of inside wheel well trimming would not have fixed the problem..especially considering speed bumpsk, driveways etc..I went with goodyear silent armor at's 245x70 with the mud guards..a little rub on sharp turns..but I dont mind..reminds me that I pushed her to the limit..good luck..IMO truck looks much better with the flaps rocks and crap will really smack the paint job w/o them..AM

Re: Bigger tires

Nice wheels..
