Re: Tires were small?
that's because the tire is thinner. you take away 1.5 inches from the radius... yep, I believe it looks small. I like the stock wheel/tire heights. It looks just right to me. It's a truck and should have some tire strength/sidwall

Re: Tires were small?
Yeah, it should look different. The rim is 3 inches larger than stock so the tire has to be shorter in radius to compensate.

Re: Tires were small?
What size were your replacement tires? The stock tires on the Ridgeline are 245/65R17. 245 is the width of the tire in millimeters, 65 is the aspect ratio, or percentage of the tire sidewall height in relation to the tire width. In this case, the height of the tire is 65% of the width of the tire. The last number, 17, is the diameter of the rim.
To calculate the overall tire diameter, you first need to calculate the tire sidewall height between the rim and the tread. To do this, you take the tire width times the aspect ratio. Tire sidewall height = 245 x 65% = 159.25mm We then need to convert this to inches by dividing by 25.4 159.25 / 25.4 = 6.27in Then you take your tire sidewall height times 2 and add it to your rim diameter. 2 x 6.27 + 17 = 29.5in In order to maintain your stock tire diameter, you need a 265/45R20 which has an overall tire diameter of 29.4in. |
