Re: 265/65/17

That size should be alright. I have 265/70/17 and I had to cut so your size might work. I'm going to be running 245/75/17 soon. With the 265, you'll lose some of your U-turn radius and have to do 3 point turns. I'm going to be using the new Nitto Dura Grapplers in 245/75/17. Hope this helps.

Re: 265/65/17

I have 265/60/18s which are the same overal size as the 265/65/17s. I have a 2" Rancho lift and they fit perfect. I think that is the best size for a lifted ridge if you want to do no major mods. The speedometer is off less than 5%. The only bad thing is that they dont make more 265/65/17s in an A/T tire.

Yes they do. The highest rated A/T tire, the Pirelli Scorpion, is available in that size.

Re: 265/65/17

Are you looking for off-road or on-road? Are you averse to cutting or removing mudflaps?

Re: 265/65/17

not totally adverse of removing or cutting mud flaps... but, kinda hesitant to grinding down/smoothing out the pinch weld though...

like the nitto grapplers as for AT

or the Toyos for road

Re: 265/65/17

I don't think that Nitto makes a 265/65/17. I know that they make a 265/70/17, but they will rub. I am pretty sure you will have to grind on the weld. Toyo does make a 265/65/17 Open Country tire, and they are the same tread pattern (same company too, I believe) as Nitto. They have different sidewalls though. And they are more expensive.

I made the mistake of buying the Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armors. I think some people here have had good luck with them in 17s but stay far away from the 265/60/R18s. I had 3 of them replaced and they still wobbled and could not be balanced. I finally replaced them with some Coopers.

Thumbs up Re: 265/65/17

Running Yokohama Geolander 265/65/17 ATS on stock RTX rims. Minor rubbing on the front mud flaps both unlifted and with 2" Trux lift installed. Solved by cutting a small square of the plastic rub point with a dremel (approx. 1" square). Hardly noticeable and filled in small gap with black silicon seal. I really like the look of this setup especially with lift and think it is worth the tiny trimming vs. going to the smaller width 245. The Yokohama Geolander ATS tires are the best riding all terrain tire that I have ever had and balanced great. We'll have to see how they wear over time since since they are very new.
