Cant decide on rims.
I really like the look of the RT Ridgeline, it's got that certain ultilitarian look to it with the black door handles, and mirrors and the simple steel wheels that I enjoy. The Ridgeline is already bordering on a more formal look in the Non RT trim packages and the more that is added to the RT trim that comes from the other trim packages the more it slides over to the more formal look which isn't a good or bad thing, it's just the way that it is IMO.
I've looked at a great deal of non-oem rims and IMO, none that I have found look utilitarian at all. They all look (IMO) to be out of place on the Ridgeline (no matter what trim level the truck is) with their fancy lines and chrome plating etc. Many of which I think would look great on a sports car but not on a truck.
So I've limited it back to simply the RT wheels or the RTL wheels. Below I've attached a photoshopped image of the same truck with the different wheels on it but I still can't decide if the truck loses too much utility look with the RTL wheels on it or not. In general I like the RT wheels but just sort of wish they were gussied up just a wee bit (not much at all) but I also like the RTL wheels but think they might actually look good on something like an Accord (in a smaller dimension) and might just gussy up the RT too much and lose that utilitarian flavor. They might just be too fancy for the black handles and mirrors, it might just be as simple as that. I don't plan on changing the mirrors or handles, but I might do something with the grille maybe some nice black mesh grille.
What is your opinion? Or have you a link to some wheels that have a more 4x4 or utilitarian (Non Street look) look to them?
Oh damn, I forgot to post the poll with it, I guess I can't add a poll afterwards through an edit of the post......
Poll:
Does the RTL rims lose that utilitarian look that the RT has?
1. Yes
2. No
3. They both look the same
4. Other (please explain)
