275/60-17 Goodyear Fortera Tripletred (pictures)

Just installed these on factory rims (new '08 RTL) and they fit great and look great. No rubbing whatsoever. 11" wide vs 9.6" on OEM tires. 697 rpm vs 700 rpm on OEM tires. 30" dia vs 29.7" dia on OEM tires. each tire weighs 38lbs vs 35 lbs for OEM tires. Gives it a wider, sportier stance. Good looking tire. Got a local tire guy to take my OEM tires in trade + $400.00 (out the door). They provide a slightly firmer ride, but the handling far outweighs the OEM tires, especially in cornering and braking. Just wanted to let you all know, in case you were interested in these. Pictures to follow once it stops sleeting outside.

Re: 275/60-17 Goodyear Fortera Tripletred

Never thought about this option for tires. Considered 255/65/R17, but never 275/60/R17. Now I can pursue the Toyo Proxies STs. Any pics of the Goodyears??

Pics look great! As soon as I get the truck back from the body shop (minor ding in the door) I'm getting the tires I want in your size.

I think that's the size I'm going with when I finally wear the oem Michelins out. I assume that you don't have a lift kit on your truck, because I'm not planning on doing that. Thanks.

Re: 275/60-17 Goodyear Fortera Tripletred

the tires look nice, but the last time I had Goodyears on a car they didn't last very long. I wasn't impressed.

No lift is needed for this tire size. Just installed Toyo's in that size with no issues.

Thumbs up Re: 275/60-17 Goodyear Fortera Tripletred

I've been running the OE size of these same tires for over a year now and can happily report that they're the best all-season tires I've ever driven on. Wish that I had though of that alternate size, although I suspect that there will be a fuel economy "penalty" for wider tires but hopefully negligible and the nearly 15% increase in tread width is bound to do wonders for handling & braking. Nice solution!
