White Letters In or Out

Does anyone have pictures of the tires on their RL with the white lettering on the outside (showing)? Just wondering what that would look like. Thanks.

Re: White Letters In or Out

White letters are unbecoming of the RL and most vehicles made in the last decade or two in my opinion.

Unless you have the opportunity to get a set of Super Gumbo Wide Boot Gnarly Knobbies with 4" tall white letters that spell "REDNECK" on the side, you should turn the letters in... OTOH, if the letters spell "REDNECK", turn 'em out!

I have had a couple of vehicles over the years that I had white letter tires on (turned out), and I thought they looked pretty decent. Just wondering what it would look like on the RL. At the moment, I think sticking with black letters out is the way to go. Thanks Chuck for the urls.

Re: White Letters In or Out

Personally, I think white letter tires look better with the letters turned out. I think black letter tires generally look better. To be honest, the only guy I knew who turned white letters in was covering for a mismatched set...

Re: White Letters In or Out

For me, the white letters really only work well on race cars/trucks or off-road beasts. So if you have the Baja Ridgeline, white letter it!

Agreed. The last car I had white letter tires on was my 80 Mercury Capri which had Mickey Thompson tires. I haven't had a set on anything since the last Reagan administration.

Re: White Letters In or Out

It depends on the make of the tire. If they are K-Mart specials turn them in The link showing the white RL with Yokohama tires looks pretty neat.
