Source and Price For Full-Size Spare?

Anybody sourced an OEM or aftermarket full-size spare for towing? The OM recommends one when towing, so I'm gonna start looking around. Any ideas and/ or prices are appreciated...

Cheers,
Tom

Re: Source and Price For Full-Size Spare?

ROC's Trading Post section for the wheel and your local tire shop for a tire.

Could also look at eBay as there are always some on there, but usually cost more than what people sell for on here.

My full size spare tire is a Goodyear <whatever> for $110 at Sam's Club. Don't really care as I'll likely never use it

I don't carry my spare tire with me. If I did, where would I hide my stash? (J/K)

I transport all sorts of extra weight... but that's a discussion for another time.

(if you ask about dead bodies in the trunk... I answer: no comment)

My service manager is keeping me in mind for a used tire for a full size spare. If time is not an issue for you.

Re: Source and Price For Full-Size Spare?

I bought an RTX rim off ebay for about $100, nabbed a TPMS sensor from a member here for $25, and dropped a new stock tire on the rim. So for about $350 total I have a full size spare. Not bad!

I got my full size spare from a fellow ROC member. Alloy wheel and OEM tire with about 1000 miles on it for $200 + $35 shipping.

Re: Source and Price For Full-Size Spare?

I bought a RT steel wheel for $9.99 + shipping on e-bay (total of $34) and had a local tire shop mount/balance a good used tire (Continental 245-65-17) for another $25. So, Ive got a full size spare for less than $60. Yes, its a steel wheel and it does not match my RTX wheels but who cares, it's in the trunk.....

Re: Source and Price For Full-Size Spare?

I purchsed a spare from our trading post (fellow ROCer). Not a bad price I paid 150$$$ for all 4 of them. Not bad if somebody wants to get rid of them.
