Re: Show off your Chrome Plastic Rims!!!!!

Here are some closeups of the wheels. Chris M is right about not being ab le to remove the wheel without taking off the hubcaps. I just tried several deep sockets and nothing will work. Hopefully, I won't have any tire problems before I can buy the wheels I want. Anyway, here are the pics.

1) What was on orginally. 22" wheels. Nice, but not my liking and ride was too harsh, especially with the airbag suspension. Removed and replaced with stock wheels, awaiting sale. $1,000.00 wheels and tires, if anyone's interested.

2) chrome plastic covers, shot from about five feet away

3) about two feet away, looking down. You can see the gap between the cover and the wheel. This is not readily seen from about five feet away.

4) Closeup of the center of the wheel.

5) Closeup of the valve stem and anti-theft valve stem cap....

more to follow

Re: Show off your Chrome Plastic Rims!!!!!

More pics..

1) Close up of top of center cap and lug nut opening.

2) gab between wheel cover and wheel

3) This is what I got for my daughters (now mine) 94 civic. I ordered a set of Red H emblems in vynil and applied them to the black center cap on an all black wheel. The wheels dirty, but you get the idea.

4) Another shot of the wheel. The lugnuts were supposed to be red, but came in this wierd red/pink color. Oh well, they still keep the wheel on. You can also see where my lovely daughter has managed to scrape up against every curb she ever parked near. I gave up fixing the wheels after the third time. She has an 08 Fit now, stock wheels and I'm not touching it.!

Re: Show off your Chrome Plastic Rims!!!!!

Thanx for the pics Rusty. I figured there would be a gap between the wheel cover and OEM rim. After reading other posts I think I'll just keep the OEM look. In the last 32 years I've always had chrome wheels on my trucks but I just can't get past the cost these days.

I would advise against this. The wheel behind the wheelskin becomes very visible when it is painted. That is why I didn't paint all 4 of mine and have 2 for sale. I finished one and had the second halfway prepped before I put the first one on the truck. I got the general idea of what I was trying to do by eye balling the mounted painted wheelskin. I then ended up painting the wheels themselves because of being able to see the outside edge of the OEM rim.
