Rotation is just too much hassle for me and I don't see the advantage.
I think you just explained the advantages... sort of.

Don't AWD vehicles present a "special case scenario" where ALL the tires should be replaced at the same time?

Re: Tire Rotation

I've just found this thread, and am surprised! I've been driving.........well, a long time now. Let's just say I was driving long before radial tires were available to the common public. I've always been told not to cross rotate radials because they then are running in reverse and it prematurely ages the tire and can be the cause of serious degradation........to the point of catastrophic blowouts. Is this information incorrect?

Chris--fear not. Todays tires can be cross rotated w/o a problem, unless they are a one direction only pattern (like some more aggressive racing tires). In fact my alignment/pulling issue was resolved by Honda cross rotating them. Service manager says he's noticed more pulling issues involving radials during the last 5 years and has cross rotated quite a few vehicle tires. Now, if I get a blow out....................

I took a class a few years ago & this topic came up. It was something said that the tires need to be replaced at the same time. But the Ridgeline is a 4WD vehicle not sure if it would matter. It maybe the way the systems operate on vehicles for this to apply. But I( sure remember it was said & that you could do damage to the vehicle.
