Tire Rotation

I have an 07 RTL with 13k on it and the stock Michelins. Which is best way to rotate the tires? Front to back or cross corner? I have read the manual.

I ask because it is easier to rotate front to back since I can lift the whole side of the truck at once. Cross corner rotation is more of pain in the ass.
Thanks!

Re: Tire Rotation

any way will work. I front-to-back one time then X-cross the next time. I want each tire to enjoy each corner of the vehicle at some point. In my mind, I think it promotes more even tire wear

Yes... Both, actually.

WHOA!?!?! ... i was right! YIPEE

I have Midas do my oil change as they have a tire rotate/oil change package for $39. Since the oil change at a Valvoline-type place is ~$30, seems like a good deal for my non-work.

Re: Tire Rotation

Actually... I meant both simultaneously...
The rear tires swapping sides to the front was what they did at my last service visit, even though I didn't request it (and wasn't charged for it).

I suppose after a few rotations, the tires would have the opportunity to visit all the corners of the truck.

The rotation chart is right outta the manual.

Re: Tire Rotation

I have an '03 Accord coupe with 66,000 miles on it. I've rotated the tires every 6,000 miles or so, and have always used only the front-to-back method. Never have cross-rotated them. I still have the original tires on the car, and they still have 3-4,000 miles left in them. I'm not AT ALL saying you don't need to cross-rotate, I'm just saying it may not be all that necessary. Of course, your mileage may vary.....

Re: Tire Rotation

Just finished the cross rotation. Cleaned everything up on back side of wheels, brakes and in the wheel wells. Good to go for another 8,000 .

Re: Tire Rotation

I never rotate tires. Right now I have 67k miles (06 RTL) on the originals and will probably get another 5k or so. The rears have much more tread and will go much further. This is typical for michlein tires and is why that's all I buy. I'll soon just replace the front tires and when the rears wear out I'll put the old front tires on the rear and the new tires on the front. Rotation is just too much hassle for me and I don't see the advantage.
