Has anyone put BFG All-terrains on their Ridgeline? If anyone has, how is the ride and the noise. What size did u go with. Thank you.

Re: BFG All-Terrain

I've had them on other trucks. No comparison. Of course that could be because of the truck too. The white lettering is cool, but otherwise, I would see no reason to put them on the Ridgeline.....unless you do tons of off roading. (light duty that is) I really like the smooth quiet ride and wet / snow traction of the Michelin's.

Re: BFG All-Terrain

Attached is my recent exchange with Tire Rack regarding the setup on the BAJA Ridge w/ the BFG's.

Dear Mike,
Just got some feedback on the wheels. My tech wrote: After extensive research, it turns out that those are not a wheel that American racing makes. The only possibility for those is that they were the American racing sidewinder wheel that was drilled by someone to accept a simulated bead lock ring. Seeing as the picture you sent me was of a concept vehicle, there is a possibility this was done. The other possibility is that is was indeed an actual racing bead lock wheel which is not available to the public. Long story short, we cannot get that exact setup.

Sorry I could not be of more help.

Best regards,
Doc Horvath

No – I didn’t contact BFG, maybe someone there can tell us about the BAJA setup. I could throw some flares on to protect the paint. I am looking for the off-road look and function, rather then the low profile look of the 20’s. Guess I will just keep waiting. Something should develop.

Thanks again.

Dear Mike,
Were you able to come up with a tire size ? We have the following sizes as approved (guaranteed) fitments;
255/45R 20 (8" to 9.5" wide wheel)
255/50R 20 (7" to 9" wide wheel)
265/45R 20 (8.5" to 10" wide wheel)

Unfortunately, BF Goodrich does not manufacture any tires in these sizes. Any other tire size would have a rim width range that we would have to check fitment.

Doc – I did some research on the AR site as well and could not find the rims in question. There are plenty of pics of the BAJA Ridgeline on the web, let me know if you need one. Bottomline, I would like to get the BFG’s on some Black Wheels, but don’t know what configuration to go with. TR has some Black rims listed, but they are all 20 x 8 (or 8.5). I don’t think these would support the BFG’s. Any thoughts?

Thanks so much for your time.

Dear Mike,

Thanks for your question to The Tire Rack. Our team that visited SEMA brought back a lot of pictures, but none of the Ridgeline you mentioned. Unfortunately, that vehicle is also absent from BFG's website as well. I did find a couple smaller pictures online, and have got a few emails out to a few of our BFG and American Racing Wheel contacts to see what I can come up with. Given how far the tires stick out beyond the wheel wells, we would not be comfortable recommending this fitment (I'd hate to ruin the paint within a month of putting the wheels on! ). I'll let you know as soon as I get some useful information.
If you have any other questions or need to place an order, please contact me directly. If you are placing your order online, please be sure to reference my name, so that I can watch over your order as it processes.
Best regards,

Doc Horvath

Re: BFG All-Terrain

I believe those BFGs are 265/70-17. I wrote to BFG about making the All Terrain T/A in 245/65 for the Ridgeline and posted the reponse elsewhere on this site.

Here is the PDF to sizes http://www.bfgoodrichtires.com/asset...rain_ta_kd.pdf

It doesn't look like a size is offered that will fit our Ridgelines. :-(

My 2001 Toyota Tundra came with these BF Goodrich tires, and I loved them, but when it came time to replace tires, I didn't love the price and bought some cheaper tires. I LOVED the raised white lettering and think my Redrock Pearl Ridgeline would look GREAT with a set, but I guess it just won't happen.

Re: BFG All-Terrain

you should check out the new goodyear wrangler, expensive but a much better tire than bfg, I like the design of the BFG but the wrangeler beats it out in every way, including desing. I'm going with a true off road tire, cooper discoverer 245/70/17 stt. won't be as quite as the AT's but I can live with that.

Just had the ridgeline lifted yesterday, it is a perfect height now. tires I hope today, if they come in.

here is a pic iof the tire for now, will posta pic when completed.

Re: BFG All-Terrain

Lowrider,

Cooper doesn't list a 245/75 in 17" on their website. They show a 245/70/17.
Is that what you're installing?

Either way, they show the diameter as 30.7" which won't fit my lifted truck.

Real interested in how these work. I'm wanting the same look.

they will definately fir your truck, why do say they won't?

Montana alreay has the ST"S in this sizes on his truck see his posts concerning fit no rubbing anywhere and he doesn't have the lift either.

it only add .6" to width on either side and on the rear front there is an inch of clearance with the stock tires which leaves me .375 clearance from hitting the mudguard. with out the mud guard there is more than apple room, check out the math. go out to your truck with a tape measure you'll see.
