Powdercoating of alloy rims

Has anyone tried powdercoating the stock alloy rims? My RL is silver and needs a little contrast from the rims. A local shop will do it for $40 per rim (have to break the tires off the rims first). They claim it will hold up as well as the factory silver coating.

I have not tried it but where are in Ohio? I have the name of a guy who does an awesome job at powder coating in Elyria. Are you close?

have not done it, but don't they have to blast the current coating off first for the new coating to properly bond?

Save your money they are powder coated. I was informed of that when I took my extra set of take off wheels to a Powder Coating Shop to have them done.

Someone on the EOC did a Powdercoat match to the Rallye Red paint of his Element. Here's the thread.
