Upgraded Wheel Option

Hi,
I am not to thrilled with the wheel covers on the Ridgeline. Has anyone purchased the upgraded wheels? Do you have pictures? From the web site they look good, but are to small to see well.

Any other recomendations out there?

Re: Upgraded Wheel Option

There are no covers or hub caps on the Ridgeline models. Several people have purchased the optional chrome look wheels. Others have taken their stock wheels and had them chromed. All are happy with those wheels.

Re: Upgraded Wheel Option

Welcome to the ROC, "RT?". Are you considering the RT model?

The RTS and RTL both come with the standard alloy wheel that you can see everywhere here on the forum. There is also a chrome version and black chrome version of the same wheel, which you can find in the 'wheels' thread posted DoctorJ's signature. I'm not sure if they are OEM or an aftermarket process.

The base model RT comes with a painted spoked steel wheel, which you can see well in this pic of RedrockRT's RedRock RT:

Let us know how yer doin'.....

Re: Upgraded Wheel Option

If you want the upgraded alloy wheel from the RTS/RTL, either advertise here that you are wanting to buy as people are upgrading to after-market wheels all the time AND/OR take a look at eBay. There are always a lot of listings for 4 alloy wheel sets and many with the Michelin tires on them as well, which is a really good street tire and a good deal overall.

Question Re: Upgraded Wheel Option

Guys and Gals,

HELP
Can the TPMS units in the rims be removed and reinstalled in an aftermarket set? I'd like to go with a new set of 20's but I can't find any info on the TPMS adaptability. Will they affect balancing?
I shot an e-mail to "Tire Rack"but have't heard back yet.

What do you think?

I think yes, it will affect the balance. The RL wheels are counterbalanced for this reason. That's not to say it can't be compensated for.... search the ROC on this, there has been quite a bit of discussion.

Re: Upgraded Wheel Option

When I changed from the steel wheels on my RT to the stock alloy wheels the tire shop transfered them from one wheel to the next. I have driven 2000 miles after the change no problems.
