the rear Springs from Springtech have no preload, and the Truck is sitting on the Bumpstops... bo good choice

Eibach does not offer Springs for the Ridgeline, the offer on this Website is for the Element.

Lupo911,Explain to all of us what preload means. Some of us that have been building street machines, streetrods, and racecars since you were in diapers don't understand some of these technically challenging words.Could you be specific in your explanation? My IQ is on par with a Pinto hubcap so,if you will, please use simple words.

Re: lowered ridge

kameleon, how do you know that the lowered Ridgelines mentioned in these posts are lowered with"cheap,(no good) springs? You don't need to be making a statement on this forum to degrade a modification that people have made to THEIR truck.Modify yours the way that you want to.Tell you what I'm gonna do.I'm going to offer you a set of springs that I will make for you.I can sell them to you cheap or very, very expensive.Which do you prefer? I'm thinking the very, very expensive ones, correct?I promise you that the springs fit perfectly, ride better, and make your truck look better, but at a cost so extravagant, you will never use the term "cheap" again. You can tell your friends that you have the most expensive springs on Gods planet. When do you want them shipped? Nuff said?

Re: lowered ridge

dear mr. Bigtars
do not get mad by what i have said! please..
what i meant is by the sounds of what i heard " no pre-load / riding on the bumpstops" does not sound good to my ears, ( hence the word CHEAP)
i am deeply sorry if i offended someone on the board by stating that their set-up is "cheap".
what i am looking for is lowering springs or a kit that will lower my Ridgeline, improve handling, but i still want to keep my towing capabilities and by riding on the bumpstops, it doesnt sound good for towing capabilities!
again
i am sorry if i offended anyone by what i had previously posted.

woha... somebody sounds p... sorry about that. I dont make a comment to your Post, becouse i am to young.

it means if you put the Truck on a Lift or you jump over a bump, the rear Spring is falling out of the Springseat, becouse it is to short, and that means NO Preload!
This Design without a Shorter Shock is just Dangerous!

Re: lowered ridge

Lupo911,let me ask you a question.Do you have Springtech springs installed on your truck? How do you know that they are too short? The reason I'm asking is that I just finished installing 4 Springtechs' on my friends Ridgeline.Your first comment was that the rear springs are too short.WRONG!!There is 173 lbs.of preload on the drivers side and 169 lbs.of preload on the passenger side. Each spring was setup using a set of scales used in balancing sprint cars. I used my spring compressors to install the rears.Your second comment was that the rear sits on the bumpstops.WRONG again!! There is 3 1/8 inches between the lower control arm and the bumpstop. I did not use the Springtechs on my Ridgeline because I had already designed my own and had them wound and heat-treated to a Rockwell hardness of my choosing then had them powdercoated. The Springtechs actually lower the truck 2 1/2 inches and my own springs lowered mine 3 1/4 inches. No rubbie-no touchie-better ride-better handling. You really got me to thinking.Does he or doesn't he? Do you?

Yes i had these Springtech`s on my Truck, for 2 Days. And they are just to short, no Preload. When the Truck was on the Lift i had aprox. 3-4cm Space between Springseat and Spring. I dont need a Spring Compressor on the rear. Why are you using scales when you put just Springs in a Car? Its not a Coilover...

The Bumpstop is sitting inside the rear Strut over the piston Rod and it will never hit the lower Arm, because it will touch only the Top Mount and the Strut housing. With your lowering of 31/4inches what is 82mm, u will compress the Bumpstop 60mm. ( stock Bumpstop is 95mm long) And this is still not good. What about your -2,5° camber on the rear? On the End i still cant believe that you got a better Ride and Handling... But it is your Car... It would be nice to meet you and talk to you in Person...

I will look on Monday, i think i have some pictures in my Computer...

Thanks
