Re: Bigger tires
That looks awesome 0700. I am really hoping to do something similar to your set-up soon. I just cannot justify getting rid of my perfectly good stock tires though. I bought my ridge with 6K miles on it - if I had got it new I would have gone straight to discount tire and traded them in on something with bigger cajones. Oh well. I may get a lift in the meantime and drive around with the stock tires till they die. I am hoping by then that General releases the Grabber AT2s in 265/65/17. They look just like the BFG ATs but since they BFG doesn't make them in a size that will work on our truck (apparently - since that was the original point to this thread) I would like to go with the Generals. The Nittos look really good too, and I think would kick serious a$$ on this truck, I just dont know if that 265/70 is gonna fit. The only one to get a tire to fit of that size is JamminJim and he did some extra fender mods.
Also, BFG All-Terrains have really gone down in quality the last few years. I have run them for the last ten years or so, and now it seems like everyone I know with them, including myself, is having belt separation issues. |

Re: Bigger tires
I've got a set of Centerline 20's to go on my truck and I'm trying to decide between some stock height 275/45 Yokohama Geolandars, or possible some slightly taller 265/50 Nitto Dune Grapplers.
With the 20's on it, if the wheel gap is too big, I'd be tempted to either lower it or lift it, but if I lift it I wouldn't want to have some street-looking tires on it like most available low profile tires look. The Geolandars seem like an excellent choice, but they don't have an aggressive tread pattern like the Dune Grapplers. I think if the wheel gap looks too big then I might prefer a more off-road looking tread design even tho' I need a fairly low profile to go with the 20's. Yokohama Geolandar HT/S: ![]() Nitto Dune Grappler: ![]() Lately, I'm leaning toward the Dune Grapplers.
