Re: Wtb: Hood Air Deflector

I'd go new on this item. The Auto VentShade branded ones are nice looking, fit well, and are only @ $50 New at local autozones, advanced auto parts, Pep Boys, etc.

The Honda one is about twice that, i believe $106 or so from HandA: Honda Ridgeline Accessories - Genuine Factory Honda Accessories, made by Honda for your Honda. and everyone has an opinion on the visible screws or whatever in the front. Some like, some don't. My friend has the AVS one for $50 and loves it. It installed in 10 minutes on his own and looks and fits perfectly.

Thank you much for the info. It does look pretty nice compare to Honda OEM. I think that is the route I'm taking...Thanks

RidgelineNewbee: R U interested in a Chrome air deflector? Have you seen one? I have a Stampede....it looks great and it's been on my truck for 2 years now. You can see my truck here, click EXTERIOR, click page 4, look for and click thread "Factory hood deflector vs Aftermarket", now go to page 5, and you will see my Redrock Pearl Ridge with Stampede Chrome deflector. I have the AVS on my Ridge. There are a few threads about it's install... Some have had real problems, some not so much.

My install was a pain in the arse, although it only took about 20-30 min... It should have taken like 5. You do not remove the weather stripping. You remove the 4 stripping clips necessary (instructions will show you which ones). The stripping is still being held on by other clips. Slide the AVS between the underside of the hood and the weather stripping, and use the plastic "screws" that come with the guard, in place of the clips you removed.

My plastic screws did not want to stay in and took numerous attempts, but they did finally stay in place, and the guard looks/works great!

Re: WTB: Hood Air Deflector

RLNewbee,

Check out this thread. I did this on my RL and it looks great because it integrates with the RL. Very cheap solution too for what looks like a custom job.

Wade Hood Deflector - Body Colored

Good Luck
