Reset oil minder?

I'm sure it has been posted in the past, but I haven't been able to search it up.

How do you reset the oil minder? I'll be doing all my own oil changes from here on, and sure would like to know..

While we're at it, how do I reset the one on my girlfriend's '05 CRV?

Thanks!

TO RESET RIDGELINE OIL LIFE MINDER

1) Turn ignition ON
2) Press SELECT button repeatedly until oil life is displayed
3) Press & hold RESET button for 10 seconds until "MAINT RESET" displays
4) Press SELECT button to choose Y-Yes or N-No (I suggest Y-Yes)
5) Press RESET button once

TO RESET CRV MAINTENANCE REMINDER

1) Unlock doors (all 4)
2) Sit in passenger's seat
3) Have girlfriend sit in driver's seat and open glove compartment to extract owner's manual
4) Find page on maintenance reminder reset by reading thru the index located on the back of the manual
5) Scroll down to the sub-heading "RTFM"
5) Read out procedure to your girlfriend while she's smoking a cigarette, filing her nails and is basically ignoring you while you're talking to her
6) In the end, you will have learned something crucial to your existance on this planet

Jeff, welcome to the wild-side of the ROC!!! LOL!! (I hope?)

All the codes can be found in your owners manual, and in owners link...Here is a pdf file another member posted that I found doing a search.

Re: Reset oil minder?

You must be right where I am on mileage.... Just under 10K?

B6 is an Oil Change & VTM Fluid Change. Also some checks of hoses & fluids etc.

The VTm does not need to be changed until 15k but pops up @ the 10K to give you pleany of time to get around to it.

In most cases, it only pops up at 10K because you've changed your oil too early instead of waiting until it told you to change your oil. My b6 didn't come on until around 14k because I followed the maintenance minder system and didn't change my oil until around 7k miles.

If you follow the oil minder and still hit b6 at 10K miles, then you must be in severe duty mode and the VTM may need changing that early. The manual describes the conditions for severe duty in the manual.

Re: Reset oil minder?

D'oh! I don't recall seeing it in the manual, but I'll check again. My Tacoma did not have it in the manual, so maybe I'm transferring manuals in my mind?

I just hit 11,000, and about 2,000 of that was pulling a travel trailer, so it probably is time to change the VTM-4 fluid. And b6 is for and oil change and VTM change BTW.
