K&N drop in air filter for 2007 RL

Does anybody know if the 2006 k&n for RL will fit in the 2007 RL?

2006 and 2007 are identical under the hood. There is no reason to believe anything mechanical on any part of this truck from 2006 would not fit into 2007 or visa versa.

Thanks 19,

I notice we have the same trim. I love this car! Last Friday I was at home depot and loaded most of my plants and flowers in the trunk as it may move around on the bed, and the fertilizer in the bed. The tonneau top I just bought kept everything safe from leaving the bed.

Best place to drop a K&N air filter is in the trash.

Bad thing to do to your engine! Very bad.

Thumbs down Re: k&n drop in air filter for 2007 RL

I have found the K & N is more of a PIA then it's worth.

Gets oily residue all over the intake. I have seen it damage mass airflow sensor contaminating it with oil.

Once it gets dirty you'll spend as much on chemicals as you would on a new high quality paper filter.

CSIMO,

I had a K&N airfilter in my 2001 Jetta. I installed it at 4,000 miles (Cleaned at 10k intervals) and when I had the compression tested at 127,891 miles, the mechanic told me that the compression numbers were extremely high and close across the four cylinders. In addition, he stated that the intake and associated innards had NO oil residue and did not show any type of contamination (A concern of his when he saw I used a K&N filter as he had "heard" bad things about them). The reason I was having this work done was I preparing to have a larger turbo put in to go with an upgraded exhaust and ECU programing. After hearing you state very bad things about the K&N airfilter, I am curious, where you get your knowledge of the product?
